Planning a vaginal birth after a previous c birth requires a lot of support. A doula is perfectly placed to provide that support to parents. Preparing for a VBAC is in some ways like preparing for a first birth. Depending on the reason for the original c birth there may be a lot of things to talk about and let go of during the pregnancy and a doula provides a therapeutic space in which to do this and to hopefully let go of any residual fears or anxieties. I offer two doula packages for parents planning a VBAC
Deluxe VBAC Birth Doula Package
This package is particularly suitable for parents planning a VBAC who would like to have full doula support all the way through their pregnancy and after their baby is born. It offers you everything you need to be fully supported in your birth and postnatal journey including five postnatal doula sessions to help parents acclimatise to having a larger family. The package includes:
- A free consultation in person or on the phone to decide whether I am a good match for you and your partner
- Four antenatal visits in your own home to discuss your needs in labour and to help you make a birth preference plan should you want one and help you and your partner if you have one, prepare for this birth. Sessions include physical preparation, emotional preparation, mental preparation and energetic preparation for birth.
- Phone text and email support from the time of booking until 6 weeks after your baby is born
- On-call service from 2 weeks before your ‘due date’ until the birth of your baby
- Daily contact by text email or phone from 38 weeks until your baby is born
- Continuous care and support for you and your partner throughout your entire labour and birth, at home and/or hospital
- Attendance at your home during early labour
- Attendance in hospital during established labour
- Support and physical and emotional comfort measures during labour such as visualisation, affirmation, massage, movement position changes, relaxation reminders and hydrotherapy
- Full homeopathic service during labour; all remedies provided.
- Photography or filming of aspects of the labour and birth as discussed with you
- Immediate postpartum care and breastfeeding assistance from birth until you are ready for me to leave
- Full postnatal doula service consisting of 5 postpartum follow-up visits in your home covering all your early parenting questions. Full breastfeeding support provided as well as support on sleeping and self care for you as a new mother having just given birth. Details here
This service offers 9 sessions; four antenatal sessions and five postnatal sessions. The charge for this service is €3,000, of which a non-refundable deposit of €1000 is due at booking. €1000 is due at 20 weeks from your due date and €1000 is due at 10 weeks from your due date. The full balance must be cleared by 36 weeks. This price offers a €1350 saving on the antenatal and postnatal sessions.
NOTE: €100 of the deposit is used to ensure that a second back up doula is also available for your dates at booking .

Standard VBAC Birth Doula Package
My standard package for VBAC clients ensures that there is plenty of time to go through previous birth experiences and also to prepare for this birth. This package only offers one postnatal visit so assumes that the new family have a lot of support from family and friends in the postnatal period. The package includes:
- A free consultation in person or on the phone to decide whether I am a good match for you and your partner
- Two antenatal visits in your own home to discuss your needs in labour and to help you make a birth preference plan should you want one and help you and your partner if you have one, prepare for this birth.
- A further two antenatal sessions in your home of up to three hours each that focus on physical preparation, emotional preparation, mental preparation and energetic preparation for birth.
- Phone text and email support from the time of booking until 6 weeks after your baby is born
- On-call service from 2 weeks before your ‘due date’ until the birth of your baby
- Daily contact by text email or phone from 38 weeks until your baby is born
- Continuous care and support for you and your partner throughout your entire labour and birth, at home and/or hospital
- Attendance at your home during early labour
- Attendance in hospital during established labour
- Support and physical and emotional comfort measures during labour such as visualization, affirmation, massage, movement position changes, relaxation reminders and hydrotherapy

This service offers 5 sessions; four antenatal sessions and one postnatal session. The charge for this service is €2,250, of which a non-refundable deposit of €1050 is due at booking. €600 is due at 20 weeks from your due date and €600 is due at 10 weeks from your due date. The remaining balance is due at the first antenatal visit. The full balance must be cleared by 36 weeks. This price offers a €550 saving on the antenatal and postnatal sessions.

If you suddenly find yourself without a birth partner or needing a doula at short notice I offer an emergency doula service. Please note this is an emergency service for people in unforeseen and unexpected circumstances, it is not a pre bookable service.
