Coping with the arrival of a new baby can be challenging especially if you have had an unexpected birth experience, if you have limited family support or if you have other small children to cope with as well. Postnatal doula care can involve some care and information in the late antenatal period, but essentially starts either in the initial postpartum days in hospital or alternatively when you come home from the hospital. Postnatal care in Ireland is notoriously minimal with most mothers leaving hospital or being discharged from midwifery care within 5 days of giving birth. For mothers leaving hospital at 2 days postpartum their milk may not even have come in yet. Most mothers feel that they benefit from some sort of continuing care in the early days with their new baby.

I offer two different options with full lactation support from an accredited International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
